European Union connects to eighteen other governments in identifying chip patents from SCC.

Static Control Components (SCC Europe) has declared the European Union grants the patent according to the company’s universal chips, as of 12 December.

The SCC universal chip technology allows one chip to be recognised and fitted by several printers and provides the programming necessary for full functionality, which SCC promises is actually “just like a dedicated chip”. SCC says: “A single, universal chip can replace multiple dedicated chips, which reduces inventory, simplifies production and lowers production costs. Universal chips also enable
the creation of universal cartridges”.

Patents concerning SCC universal chip technology have also been granted in the united states, by the government authorities of 9  countries, and in Israel, Egypt, Mexico, South Korea as well as P.R. China. Patents are currently pending in Brazil, India and Hong Kong.
